Tim "TJ" Hansen is our Pacific Northwest based President, and appraiser. He brings 19 years of jewelry experience to the Gold Standard team. TJ started out as an appraiser for a family owned company in Nebraska where he and his family are from. Since making the move to the Pacific Northwest TJ has expanded our appraisal firm, now reaching coast to coast and covering the appraisal service for over 250 retail locations.
TJ is also the founder of a jewelry design firm, Elephant Gems, Inc. The company has an emphasis on giving back to the communities where the gemstones, diamonds, and pearls come from, while telling the story of the artisanal Small Scale miners (ASM) he buys from. With our Bahamian partners and Resorts World Elephant Gems has opened our first boutique in Bimini, Bahamas offering our gems, pearls and jewelry designs to tourists of the island.
In TJ's spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, spending time at his kids school as the president of the PTA, traveling, and spending time in the Bahamas (his home away from home). TJ is also currently working towards his private pilots license.
